Together @ Porto

Uma das coisas que mais gosto nas golas que têm mistura de tecidos é o facto de que, dependendo da forma como as enrolamos à volta do pescoço, quase parecer que se tem duas diferentes. Não sou só eu que acho, quem as tem diz o mesmo. Esta é uma das que enviámos esta semana para o Porto.

A Together é uma Loja Colaborativa de imenso bom gosto, diga-se de passagem. Apesar de ter aberto há pouquíssimo tempo, é linda! Podem ver um pouco mais aqui. Inspiradas até por uma ida ao Brasil, onde visitaram uma Loja Colaborativa de 4 andares, as pessoas que gerem a Together mostram ter um sentido estético apurado, apoiando-se num estilo Shabby Chic minimalista, dando grande destaque às peças em exposição.

No que me respeita, desejo-lhes (e a nós também) a maior sorte do mundo.

One of the things I love the most about mixed fabric scarfs is that, depending how we roll them around our neck, they seem two different ones. It's not just a thing of mine, some other costumers say it too. This one was sent this week to Porto. 

Together is a fashionable Collaborative Store, by the way. Besides May is only the first month open, it's absolutely gorgeous!You can see a bit more here. Also inspired by a trip to Brasil where they visited a four floors Collaborative shop, the owners have a real good taste.The shop has a minimalistic Shabby Chic style that respects and praises the exhibited items.
As far as I concern, I wish them (and us) all the luck in this world.

Após longos longos dias de costura, já foi entregue a quem a encomendou e já deve andar pela rua nestes dias Primaveris. Uma das coisas que mais temo quando não conheço quem me faz as encomendas é, de facto, se a peça irá ou não agradar, se as cores foram as melhores, se, se, se! Esta carteira é alegre, vivaz mas ao mesmo tempo muito feminina. A minha opinião não é imparcial, claro, mas sim, acho-a bonita, e voçês?

After long long sewing days, this one has already been delivered to whom ordered it and I bet it's already walking through streets this Spring days. When delivering a order to someone I don't know, the thing I fear the most is if the person will like the item or not, if I have choosen the right colors, if, if, if! This wallet is cheerful, peppy but very girlish at the same time. Of course that my opinion isn't neutral but yes, I do think it is pretty, and you?

Carteira XXL n.6 // XXL Wallter n.6

Ó sim. Elas costumam ser uma mistura louca de padrões, explodindo em cor e textura, mas não esta. Esta é chique, um pouco formal, ainda assim descontraída mas leva-se demasiado a sério, decididamente. Esta é a certeira XXL n.6. Não é a maior que já fiz, de facto até é um pouco mais curta mas ainda assim é uma XXL. Obrigada Irina pela encomenda :).

Oh yeah. They are usually a crazy pattern mix, exploding in clolour and texture but not this one. This one is chic, a bit formal, still casual and clearly takes itself too seriously. This is the XXL Wallter nr.6. It's not the bigger that I've done, in facto is a bit shorter, but still a XXL. Thank you Irina for your order :).

Sling de Bebé // Baby Sling

 

Sim estão na moda, mas sabiam que por cá já as utilizavam imenso há cerca de 30 anos atrás? Depois vieram os ovinhos, cadeiras, espreguiçadeiras (curioso, maior parte das crianças não gosta de estar nestes equipamentos) e as pessoas esqueceram-se que o melhor sítio para um bebé ainda é no seu regaço. Mas há coisas que voltam a estar na moda e as slings são uma delas. 

Talvez pela necessidade das mães, cada vez mais multitasking, precisem de acalmar os seus filhos mas ainda assim terem as mãos livres? Talvez para adormecerem mais facilmente os seus bebés uma vez que eles se sentem como se tivessem ainda no ventre? 

Esta Sling é um verdadeiro kit-mãos-livres. É segura, suave (100% algodão), reversível, personalizável e está mais que provado que fomenta e muito a relação mãe-filho desde os primeiros tempos. O modelo que agora costuro já foi utilizado por milhares de pessoas, tem o fundo redondo para apoiar as costas e rabinho do bebé e adapta-se perfeitamente à fisionomia de ambos.

Pessoalmente, nunca utilizei sling com o Vicente pelo simples facto de que nunca tinha visto nenhuma. Se algum dia a família crescer não vou hesitar.

Li imenso antes de fazer a primeira sling e alguns sites recomendam utilizar as mesmas apenas quando os bebés já segurarem minimamente o pescoço uma vez que a posição em C (típica da sling e que tanto os conforta) pode tornar difícil bolsar, arrotar ou espirrar em recém-nascidos e isso pode não ser bom para eles. A utilização da mesma fica ao critério de cada um, a sling pode ser utilizada até aos 18 meses ou mais já com o bebé sentado virado para a mãe.

Yes they are high fashion this days but do you know that here in Portugal they were highly used about 30 years ago? Then market offered our mothers an all bunch of new plastic solutions: chairs, etc (in which even most part of the babies don't like to be) and people forgot that the best place a baby can be is still our lap. Anyway, there are things that always come to fashion again and sling are one of them.

Maybe bcause multitasking mother's need to calm their children and still have their hands free? Maybe to easily put them to sleep since once staying at a sling they feel like being at their mammas womb?

This sling is a handsfree-kit. Is safe, soft (100% cotton), reversible and is proved to enhance mother-son relationship since the begin. This pattern has a round finishing to support their back and bottom and perfectly adapts to both mother and baby phisiognomy.

I didin't use something like this with Vicente because I really didn't knew about sling existence. If family get bigger I won't hesitate.

I read a lot about slings before sewing one and some websites recomment mammas to wear them only after their babies hold their neck a bit once that C position (the conforting typical sling position) may interfere with spitting up, burps sneezes when they are newborn and that may not be good for them. The use you give to it it's up to you, the sling can be used until 18 months or more if baby sit facing the mother.

Chapéus Reversíveis // Reversible Hats

Três chapéus diferentes que até parecem ser seis. Agora há mais três crianças com o pescoço, orelhas e cara protegidos do sol, com tecidos que as suas próprias mamãs escolheram :). Faltam mais dois. Mais uma vez obrigada pelas encomendas.

Mala para PC Aqua // Laptop Aqua Bag

À semelhança da mala para portátil Rosa que fiz há uns tempos, esta foi feita por medida mas é em tons aqua e castanho. Está integralmente acolchoada, tem um bolso para os cabos e uma flor yo-yo aplicada. O rebordo do bolso levou pele genuína, assim como as alças também são em pele. 

Já foi costurada há uns bons dias mas tenho que admitir que não estou a conseguir postar tudo o que faço assim que o faço. Só posso dizer que tenho tido imenso trabalho, e ainda bem. Obrigada a todos pelas encomendas.

I made a Rose laptop bag and like that bag, this one was made to order but is brown and aqua. It's fully lined, has a cables pocket and a yo-yo flower apliqué. Pocket's piping cord was made with genuine leather as well as the handles.

I sewn it a while ago I must confess. Unfortunetely I'm not capable to post everything I make when I make it but I'm trying to show you all. I'm having a lot of work and that's good. Thank you all for your orders.

Helen Cookies

Provámos ontem pela primeira vez os "Helen Cookies". Por onde começar? Estes biscoitos e bolinhos são caseiros e feitos em forno de lenha. O mote é serem gourmets, mas tradicionais. A meu ver conseguiram-no. Falando dos de chocolate, laranja e canela ... são uma mistura completamente surpreendente de sabor e textura. Temos o aroma da laranja, a frescura da canela (que já me parecia menta) e o calor do chocolate que os tornam numa autêntica explosão de sabor. É preciso uma dentada forte, decidida, para tirar cada pedaço destes biscoitos deliciosos. Estou a comer um ainda agora, querem experimentar? Recomendo vivamente.

Yesterday we had tried "Helen Cookies" for the first time. How can I start? This cookies are homemade and cooked in a wood oven. The point is being gourmet without loosing the traditional base. I think they made it. Speaking about the chocolate, orange, cinnammon ones ... they are an outstanding flavour and texture combination. We can feel the orange scent, cinnammon freshness (oh my it looked like mint) and the heat of chocolate that make them a truly taste explosion. You must have a strong, decided bite to take each piece of this delicious biscuits. I'm eating one now, wanna try? Strongly recommended.
