Muda Fraldas // Changing Mat

One more baby has arrived and her name is Leonor. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to meet her yet so I antecipated our visit and sewn this portable changing mat for this litle baby visits to the doctor and walks with her parents and sent it by mail. This one will fit her until 3/4 months and all the materials are made of 100% cotton since I believe we should have extra care when the subject is newborn´s skin.

Dia na Cozinha // Kitchen Day

Yesterday my day was all around the kitchen. Cleaning, rubbing, making Vicente's soups were the main tasks but still I had time to make pineaple yogurts for Edgar and a biittersweet jam - banana-kiwi - that was a quite nice new recipe.

This first experience didn't get exactly as I imagined but it fits Vicente's head and protects his eyes once it has bigger tabs than usual. Now he can walk on my lap ^^. There ore more 2 to make, one other for Vicente and one for his cousin Helena.

previne a compota de queimar ou pegar e auxilia a manter o sabor da fruta // prevents jam from getting burnt and helps to keep fruit's taste
» Adicionar algumas gotas de limão // Add some lemon drops
quanto mais doce a fruta, mais tempo demora a chegar ao ponto e por isso adicionar gotas de uma fruta ácida, que à partida contém mais pectina, acelera o processo sem ser necessário adicionar ingredientes artificiais // the sweeter the fruit, the longer it will take until reach the jam point so, adding some drops from an acidic fruit, that is likely to have more pectin, accelerates the process without using other artificial ingredients
» Após chegar ao ponto estrada aguardar mais um pouco // After reaching the point wait a little bit longer
assim é garantido que o doce fica bem apurado // this way you will be sure that the jam is well done
» Colocar um prato no congelador // Put a plate in the freezer
ao colocar uma pequena quantidade de compota no prato esta vai arrefecer instantaneamente permitindo ver se a mesma está no ponto // once you put a little jam amount in it, the jam will cool instantly and let you know if it is ready
» Esterilizar os frascos // Sterilize the jars
Previne a formação de bolores e 10 minutos com as tampas viradas para baixo em água fervente são suficientes // prevents formation of mold and 10 minuts with the jars turned upside down in boiling water is enough

I had not post here for ages, I'm sorry but being a full time mother is still my motive :).
