Desapontada // Disappointed

Vou ser sincera. .  Tenho andado tão desapontada com o mundo do artesanato! É bem sabido, e nota-se, que a crise despertou a veia artística em muitas pessoas. O número de artesãs deve ter triplicado no último ano. Isso é bom, é bonito e é interessante pois as pessoas estão a voltar ao que é feito à mão e a valorizá-lo.
I'll be honest. I'm so disappointed about craft world this past few weeks! The economical crisis brought up our creativity that is true, we all know that and is easy to see. The craft people around here may have triplicate and for me that is beautiful, good and interesting because finally we are turning ourselves to "handmade" and adding value to it again.


O que não percebo é como é que as próprias artesãs se prejudicam umas ás outras, ofendendo, copiando e plagiando o trabalho uma das outras. Visitei uma feira de artesanato e juro que metade das mesas tinham peças muito iguais. O artesanato não é só um negócio, ou não devia ser! Artesanato é pormos as mãos na massa e criarmos as nossas próprias peças, únicas e exclusivas. Mas há por aí muita gente que só liga mesmo ao rendimento que pode obter passando por cima de tudo e todos e é isso que me desilude ...
What I don't understand is why crafters harm others, offending, copying and plagiarizing the work of each other. I visit a craft fair and mostly half of the spots had the same type of items I swear. Craft is not all about profit, it shouldn't be! Craft is put all the materials together and create your own unique, exclusive items. There are so many people out there that only care about profit and pass over everyone and for me that is so disappointing ...
